After one of the mildest winters in history, on arrival to the Ranch on April 19, we were greeted with great road conditions on the WSR road, and more importantly, a dry and secure boardwalk! Looking back into our photo logs, it seems this is only the second time we have been up at Warm Springs Ranch in April – I vividly remember when I came up in 2011 and did not make it through the “Upper Flats” due to muddy road conditions. All in all it was a great welcoming and great to be back at our little piece of heaven.
The Warm Springs Ranch road is approximately 800 meters in length and took three days to construct. I remember local building contractor, Guenter commenting that we had built a highway and spent way too much money on gravel, but…GOD BLESS! “Silver Tip” who knew what he was doing – the result is a dry, level and low maintenance road and we thank him for that.
Though we are committed to spending as much time fishing as possible (fishing report to follow), each visit we always attempt to begin and wishfully complete a project. Our project for our 2015 Spring Opener was the “Stairway to Heaven”.
Below you see the rock wall which sits on the lakeside of the building site for the WSR homestead:
It was not easy to navigate in for the young and hardy. The “Stairway to Heaven” makes going up or down easy for everybody and will be integrated into the two decks planned to be on the lakeside of the WSR homestead.
